The 2024 Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Program announced by the U.S. Mission in Hyderabad, India, aims to enhance Indian entrepreneurship, promote economic growth, and foster inclusive development. The participants in the program will be assigned a USG program alumni business and entrepreneurship mentor for advice, guidance, and networking. USG program alumni will serve as mentors, providing one-on-one advice and tips to participants, rather than replacing core training facilitators.
Participants who graduate will get the fundamental understanding required to formalize and grow their enterprises. In order to expand their company potential, participants will get access to new markets, finance sources, and networking opportunities. The initiative aims to establish a network of strong, independent businesswomen who can encourage young girls, support the community's economy, and interact with the government.
The performance period is one year, with one award and a total available funding of $33,242. Additionally, the Award Ceiling is $33,242 and the Award Floor is $33,000. The goal is to empower 60 women interested in entrepreneurship, provide them with networking, funding, and new markets, and create a network that contributes to the local economy and inspires young women.
This opportunity does not support partisan political activities, charitable, construction, religious, fundraising, scientific research, commercial, institutional, duplicate, or illegal activities.
Non-profit organizations, civil society/non-governmental organizations, think tanks and public & private educational institutions are eligible for this NOFO. Subcontracting with other entities is allowed, but responsibilities must be clearly defined.
