The women entrepreneurs from Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana have completed the intensive Academy of Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) program and were recently congratulated by the U.S. Consulate General in Hyderabad, which is in collaboration with the Kalinga Institute of Information and Technology, Technology Business Incubator (KIIT-TBI).

The AWE is a six-month program created to give female entrepreneurs the financial management, marketing, and strategic planning abilities that they need to formalize and expand their companies. Innovative online learning platforms were combined with locally relevant in-class discussions, mentorship, and interaction with Indian alumni of US government-sponsored exchange programs, as well as local business leaders and US experts. Around 100 women leaders took part in the program in total. The AWE program's success was celebrated at the capstone event, which took place at KIIT-TBI in Bhubaneswar.

U.S. Consul General Jennifer Larson congratulated program graduates and highlighted the potential for women's entrepreneurial leadership in India's Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Telangana regions at the Capstone event.

Jennifer highlighted the potential of women in India's formal economy, thanking Women's University, Andhra University, and St. Francis College for hosting AWE cohorts.

The Academy of Women Entrepreneurs is a six-month program aimed at equipping women entrepreneurs with strategic planning, marketing, and financial management skills, a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) and the Women's Global Development and Prosperity Initiative led by the White House.
