UP CM Highlights Indian Womens Progress at FICCI FLO Conference

- UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath attended a FICCI FLO conference in Lucknow
- He said women's progress is necessary for the advancement of society and the nation
- He commented that the empowered and skilled women strengthen the community
The three-day interstate meeting called by FICCI FLO took place on Thursday, at which UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was present in Lucknow.
He stated that the momentum that society, state, and nation as a whole create in terms of women's empowerment is a function of women's development.
He went on to state that women's development, confidence, empowerment, and skill development are all contributing elements of a women's collective journey to development, and is not only beneficial for the women involved, but beneficial for society.
He stated to the conference participants that his administration has been working to ensure that the women of UP have an environment that is safe, supportive, and full of opportunities.
He reiterated that women's advancement is contributing to an Aatmanirbhar state and contributing to an even broader developmental agenda that India has committed to.
He mentioned various women's empowerment programs have provided the women in UP with economic independence, the initiatives focused on women's safety and self-employment.
The Chief Minister also spoke to the increased number of startups founded by women, women leading in MSME (Micro Small Medium Enterprises), and women in leadership roles in other sectors across UP.
Yogi recognized the value of an organization such as FICCI FLO to foster future women professionals and entrepreneurs.
He said the conference sessions and programs will focus on themes of mentorship, financial literacy, market access, and capacity-building for women.
Other themes we will explore include digital innovations, social entrepreneurship, and leadership development - to support knowledge exchange of experiential learning for participants with whom they can connect.
Field experts have documented that equitable access to resources, training, and global opportunities come from ongoing support from both governmental and private sectors, so women can effectively engage in the economy. Leaders from business, policy, academic, and civil society have come together to address these issues.
This three-day conference is to further deepen partnerships, amplify the stories of success, and broaden opportunities for women to engage and participate in affecting social and economic progress in India.
