
Top Govt Officials Launch Support Progs for Women in Relief Centers in Manipur's Churachandpur Dist

Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan and Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Kumar Deka visited two significant relief centers in Churachandpur district on Monday, June 2, as part of a high-level evaluation of relief measures for internally displaced people (IDPs) in Manipur's violence-affected areas.
Prashant Kumar Singh, the chief secretary of Manipur, Rajeev Singh, the director general of police, and other high-ranking representatives from the federal and state governments joined them. In order to assess rehabilitation efforts, the delegation interacted with displaced people and carried out a thorough examination of ongoing relief operations.
The Union Home Secretary launched important programs aimed at fostering self-sufficiency and support among displaced women and children at the Dorcas Locality Community Hall, where the visit got underway. These included a toddler creche, a Women's Tailoring Center run by the Rural Self Employment Training Institutes (RSETI), and a symbolic "Wall of Hope" to highlight the resiliency of the community.
Locals gave the visiting dignitaries traditional shawls and tokens of appreciation during a special program at the location. Officials acknowledged the accomplishments of displaced students from Class 1 through matriculation in exchange, giving them merit certificates and other tokens of appreciation for their outstanding academic performance despite difficult circumstances.
