TN CM M.K. Stalin Launches Women's Entrepreneurship Scheme

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin has launched the Tamil Nadu Women Entrepreneurship Development Scheme, an initiative by the Department of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises to empower women and encourage entrepreneurship in the state.
The scheme aims to assist women in transforming into successful entrepreneurs in the coming five years by providing support in terms of finance, training, mentorship, etc. The launch event was attended by officials, women entrepreneurs, etc., in the state capital Chennai.
The Tamil Nadu state government will offer women looking to start their own businesses or scale up their current operations training programs, credit support, market support, etc., as part of the initiative. The scheme will focus on women in rural and semi-urban areas to encourage women empowerment.
The initiative will encourage women entrepreneurs to set up their own businesses in the manufacturing sector, food processing, handicrafts, service industry, etc. Special training programs will be conducted to help women entrepreneurs scale their businesses successfully.
In his speech at the launch, the Chief Minister of the state, pointed out that women’s empowerment is an important part of the state’s economic development. He added that not only will the women’s businesses create employment opportunities, but it will also help the economy of the state grow.
The government is of the opinion that the scheme will enable thousands of women to acquire the “confidence, skills, and resources to succeed in their business ventures towards the vision of sustainable economic development in Tamil Nadu.”
