TiE Global Summit 2026 Launches Campaign for Womenpreneurs & Jobs

TiE Global Summit’s 10th edition was launched on January 5, 2026, with a focus on female entrepreneurs and mass job creation. TiE launched the “1-10-100 and 100 Million” initiative to focus on the improvement of MSMEs as the engines of economic growth and job creation.

MSMEs will play a major role in the catalysis of mass job creation so that the next five-year mission can achieve the creation of 10 million jobs and over $100 billion of economic value, which will have a focus on regulation, capital, skills, technology, and growth, putting entrepreneurship at the forefront of the India workforce.

The first session included a fireside chat session ‘Leadership Beyond Labels: Women, Power & Public Service featuring Smriti Z. Irani, Former Cabinet Minister of India, in conversation with Mahavir Pratap Sharma, Convener of the TiE Global Summit.

Smriti spoke about her own experiences in the areas of media, politics, governance, and making a positive impact, including the need to push beyond personal limitations and the need to take risks, even in the midst of great achievement.

She introduced the concept of the positive impact of the women-led micro-businesses and the need to support this space through her own project named SPARK, which seeks to support 100,000 women entrepreneurs in 300 cities by providing them credit, formalization, and support.

The discussion regarding economic development was continued in the presentation on “The Role of MSME’s As Engines for Economic Growth, and the Role of the State” with Dr. P. Anbalagan, Principal Secretary for Industries in the Government of Maharashtra, and Shri T. Sivasankara Rao, Chairman of Andhra Pradesh (AP) Micro and Small Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development Corporation.

The presentation was moderated by Murali Bukkapatnam, Chairman of the Global Board of Trustees of (TiE).

The session presented highlights of the economic development potential for MSME's, particularly in sectors with high employment potential including which was highlighted as one of the key areas of focus of the session were apparel, footwear and other allied manufacturing sectors.

Additionally, key points from the session were discussed, including, among others, Simplifying Regulatory Barriers, Streamlining GST Compliance, Facilitating Access to Credit, as well as Facilitating Technology-Driven, Cluster-Based Development.

Overall, the meetings served as a reminder of TiE’s interest in and focus areas around entrepreneurship, governance, women’s leadership, job generation from MSMEs, and future-ready ecosystem building, making TiE Summit a significant platform for collaboration and engagement.
