The Women's Hospital Introduces SSI Mantra 3 for Robotic Surgery

The made-in-India, for-India robotic surgical system by SS Innovations marks a major expansion of TWH’s minimally invasive surgical capability across general surgery, gynaecology, urology, GI and colorectal, thoracic, and other complex procedures

The Women’s Hospital (TWH), India’s first multi-speciality women-centric hospital, has introduced the SSI Mantra Generation 3 Surgical Robotic System by SS Innovations on August 4, 2026, in New Delhi, marking a major step in advancing women's healthcare expanding access to advanced, minimally invasive robotic surgery across multiple specialities.

The system strengthens TWH’s capability to perform precision-led procedures across general surgery, gynaecology, urology, gastrointestinal, colorectal surgery, and thoracic surgery with the required setup. With this addition, TWH is equipped to offer advanced robot-assisted care for complex surgical needs within an integrated hospital ecosystem.

For patients, surgery is never just an operating room event. It is time away from work, family, mobility, caregiving and everyday life. SSI Mantra 3 enables surgical care that can be more minimally invasive than conventional laparoscopy, supporting smaller incisions, reduced blood loss, fewer complications, faster surgery, shorter hospital stays and quicker recovery.

Made in India, for India, SSI Mantra 3 is a four-arm robotic surgical system comprising robotic arms, a surgeon console and a main console. The system is equipped with a camera, light source and multiple energy systems, including monopolar, bipolar and harmonic energy sources. It supports 20+ robotic instruments, CSSD and ETO sterilisation for robotic instruments, and telesurgery capabilities, enabling the surgeon and patient to be in different locations where clinically appropriate.

Speaking on the announcement, Anika Parashar, Founder and CEO, The Women’s Hospital, said, “We have always believed that healthcare must not ask patients to choose between clinical excellence and compassion. Surgery can be frightening, not only because of the procedure, but because of what it takes away: time, confidence, mobility, family routines and a sense of control. Bringing SSI Mantra Generation 3 to TWH is our way of making advanced surgery feel less distant, less disruptive and more human. For us, technology has meaning only when it reduces suffering, improves recovery and gives doctors sharper tools to care better. This program reflects the hospital we are building: one where complex care is precise, accessible and deeply respectful of the life a patient returns to after surgery.”

With SSI Mantra 3, TWH strengthens its position as a future-ready surgical centre, bringing together advanced infrastructure, specialist expertise and compassionate care to set a new benchmark for precision-led, multi-speciality robotic surgery in India.
