Nagaland SP Pritpal Kaur named '2024 IACP 40 Under 40' by IACP
Pritpal Kaur, the Superintendent of Police in Nagaland's Phek district, has been named the '2024 IACP 40 Under 40' by the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). She is a dedicated personel towards law enforcement and community service. The Nagaland SP has been focusing on improving safety and justice for women and children through combating crimes like domestic violence, human traffiking, sexual abuse, etc. She also promotes community outreach to prevent crime and foster social harmony in the society.
Union Bank of India launches Rural Training Centre for Women
India's first all-women Rural Self Employment Training Institutions (RSETIs) have been launched by Union Bank of India in Mauganj of Madhya Pradesh and Palnadu of Andhra Pradesh. The bank also launched several initiatives that emphasize health, education, and women upliftment along with a donation of Rs 5.30 crore to Cancer Institute, Chennai.

Team India clinches Win by defeating Sri Lanka by 82 Runs
Dubai International Cricket Stadium witnessed two record-breaking performances simultaneously on 9 October 2024 during the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024. Team India (IND-W) clinched an exemplary win against Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) with 82 runs. Women in Blue smashed the highest 172/3 in 20 overs and restricted Sri Lanka for 90 runs in 19.5 overs grabbing all the wickets. This is the highest run scored by any team during the Women's WC 2024. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur received the 'Player of the Match' title for her splendid batting performance hitting an unbeaten half-century. Additionally, Arundhati Reddy took 3 wickets for 15 runs in 4 overs showcasing a great bowling performance.
Karnataka Girl Nidhi Gautam becomes British 'High Commissioner for a Day'
In order to observe the 'International Day of the Girl Child' celebrated annually on October 11, the British High Commission in India has organized 'High Commissioner for a Day' since 2017 that offers young women aged 18 to 23, a unique opportunity to experience a day in the life of the UK's top diplomat in India. This event aims to empower young women by highlighting their importance in society.
England Openers Effortlessly defeat Scotland by 10 Wickets
The ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 has completed 17 matches out of 23 matches where spectators have witnessed spectacular matches with players breaking records. The 17th match between England Women (ENG-W) and Scotland Women (SCO-W) on October 13, 2024, Sunday was an awe to watch as England effortlessly defeated Scotland by 10 wickets at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. ENG-W openers, Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt-Hodge smashed half centuries leading to a dominant victory. England maintains their spot at the top of Group B without any loss so far in the tournament securing their place in the semi-finals.
