Ruchika Singh Becomes First Indian Woman Cyclist to Win 5 Medals at Fire Games 2025
In a first in Indian sports history, Ruchika Singh has emerged the first Indian female cyclist to bag five medals at the World Police and Fire Games 2025 in Alabama, USA. Riding for India in five tough cycling events — Road Race, Time Trial, Sprint, Hill Climb, and Circuit Race — Ruchika claimed a bronze medal each, creating a landmark victory for Indian cycling as well as for women in the uniformed services.

BCCL Launches Women-Led Initiatives in Dhanbad to Boost Gender Inclusivity
In a forward-thinking step towards gender inclusiveness and empowerment, Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), which is a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), has initiated two historic women-run schemes in Dhanbad, Jharkhand.
The first scheme initiated the overall changeover at Koyla Nagar Hospital, which is run completely by women doctors, nurses, as well as support staff — as a landmark achievement in the field of public sector healthcare. The transition was officially launched by BCCL Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Samiran Dutta, with senior officials and prominent women healthcare professionals like Dr. Poonam Dubey, Chief of Medical Services, and Dr. Vandana Thakur, Chief Medical Officer Central Hospital Dhanbad in attendance.
Guneet Monga Launches India Chapter of Women in Film
Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga inaugurated formally the India chapter of Women in Film (WIF), a global body dedicated to promoting gender parity in the entertainment and film industry.
The inaugural function was organized at the 'Golden Lens' symposium, conducted by the Young FICCI Ladies Organisation (YFLO), and held at ITC Kakatiya. The launch was met with an enormous response by over 200 members.

Telangana Govt Unveils Special Action Plan for Women's Economic Empowerment
Minister of State for Panchayat Raj Danasari Anasuya Seethakka on Thursday revealed that the government is in active process of formulating a special action plan of economic empowerment of women in the state.
Speaking on the occasion of “Indira Mahila Shakti” celebrations organized at Girijan Bhavan in Mulugu district headquarters, the minister—along with Bhadrachalam MLA Tellam Venkata Rao, Additional CEO of SERP P. Katyayani Devi, District Collector Divakar TS, Market Committee Chairperson Rega Kalyani, and Grandhalaya Samstha Chairperson Banoth Ravi Chander—distributed interest-free loan cheques, loan insurance, and accident claim cheques to the beneficiaries.
