Khelo India ASMITA League Kicks Off to Empower Young Girls in Football
The Khelo India ASMITA Football League 2025–26 was officially inaugurated at the Godavari Engineering College Ground, Jalgaon, Maharashtra, by Raksha Nikhil Khadse, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports. Calling the league “where passion turns into performance,” the minister underscored its role in promoting women’s participation in football and identifying hidden talent, particularly among girls from tribal and minority communities.
"Nari Adalat' Launched by Sikkim CM in Rongpo on First Amma Samman Diwas
On the first Amma Samman Diwas, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang inaugurated the 'Nari Adalat' at Rongpo — a pioneering, women-headed community court with a vision to offer accessible, informal, and compassionate conflict resolution for rural and semi-urban communities.
The primary aim of the initiative is to enable women to become proactive in resolving disputes and dealing with social problems that affect them directly, providing a friendly and non-threatening environment where disputes can be resolved locally without the formal judicial system's complexities, expense, and time.
Women's Clothing Brand Libas to Launch 11 New Stores Across India on Aug 15
Ultra-fast-fashion brand Libas with launch 11 new stores in India in a single day, August 15. This milestone marks a significant foray into the country's dynamic offline retail landscape and brings the company closer to its aggressive target of having over 100 stores by 2025 end.
The new stores have been strategically located based on high consumer demand and high digital interaction, ranging from high-performing neighborhoods and high-footfall retail destinations. Sites are in Jasola, Rohini, and Gaur City in Delhi-NCR; Phoenix Palassio in Lucknow; Indore; MG Road in Kochi; Amritsar; Udaipur; Bel Road and Sarjapur in Bengaluru; and Mumbai.
H.E. Zeenat Kureshi Becomes First Indian Woman Appointed as GCC India Trade Commissioner
H.E. Zeenat Kureshi is the first Indian woman to be appointed GCC–India Trade Commissioner of an international chamber of commerce—a first for India–GCC relations. Her appointment is a historic step towards greater economic, cultural, and luxury diplomacy between India and the nations of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Masai Launches Season 2 of 'EmpowerHer'-A Free Tech Scholarship for Indian Women
Masai, India's premier outcome-based education platform has launched Season 2 of its 'EmpowerHer' initiative, a complete scholarship in technology for Indian women to empower them to achieve prosperous careers in technology. The program is being launched in collaboration with the Korea Social Investment Foundation (KSIF) and is being supported by AVPN, Asia's most prominent social investor network.
