Team India Wins SAFF U17 Women's Champions Despite Defeat Against Bangladesh

India faced a defeat at the hands of Bangladesh at the final match of SAFF U17 Women’s Championship 2025, losing the match 3-4. The match was being played at Changlimithang Stadium, Bhutan, on Sunday. However, the Young Tigresses have won the tournament, earning the lead in the points table with a game remaining. The Indian women scored five wins and one loss in the whole competition, which concluded in their win.
The first goal of the match was scored by Bangladesh’s Purnima Marma in the first minute of the game. The first goal from India’s side was scored by Anushka Kumari in the ninth minute. Bangladesh moved in the lead position when the next goals were scored in the 34th minute and 48th minute by Alpi Akter and Sauravi Prity respectively.
Pritika Barman from Team India scored the next goal in the 65th minute, and equalised the score in the 89th minute. The final goal of the match was scored by Prity in injury time to take Bangladesh to the win.
The Indian team will now be travelling to Bengaluru to carry on the preparations for the upcoming AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup Qualifiers which are to be held in October in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic.
