Mumbai Indians, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, secured a five-wicket win over Gujarat Giants in Match 5 of the TATA Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025, maintaining their unbeaten record against the Giants with five wins out of five matches. Held on Tuesday at the BCA Stadium, Vadodara, the power players of MI, Hayley Matthews (3-16), Amelia Kerr (2-22), and Natalie Sciver-Brunt (2-26) led the victorious win over GG.

MI captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and elected to field, leading to a successful performance. Sciver-Brunt took a huge wicket of Beth Mooney at the 8th ball of the innings, and Laura Wolvaardt followed with a stunning wicket taken by Shabnim Ismail. Before the fourth over ended, MI's Amelia made sure to take another wicket; she dismissed Dayalan Hemalatha.

Matthews completed a 3-fer, and Kerr caught Simran Shaikh. Deol's dismissal further sank GG, but her spirited fight helped them reach 120 in 20 overs.

During the second innings, MI started strong, reaching 37/1 after six overs. Opener Hayley was caught by Tanuja Kanwer for 17 off 19, whereas Priya Mishra dismissed Yastika Bhatia (8), and skipper Kaur (4) was trapped by Gautam, leaving MI at 55/3. However, Sciver-Brunt's (57) counter-attack, scoring another half-century, offered a relief to MI. Later, Amelia Kerr (19), Sajana S (10), and Kamalini G (4) contributed to a 122/5 win in 16.1 overs.
