Tata WPL 2023: Sophie's incredible 99 leads RCB win against GG over 8 wickets

The Tata WPL 2023 Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Gujarat Giants: An incredible win by Royal Challengers Bangalore against Gujarat Giants. Instead of facing consecutive losses in Tata Women’s Premier League by RCB, they are back into the game from the last two matches. Captain Smriti Mandhana led team RCB is giving tough competition to their opponents.

Saturday was a double headers day where the second match was against RCB and GG. The female players of both teams faced each other at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI. Gujarat Giants won the toss and chose to bat first against Royal Challengers Bangalore. They scored 188 runs in a loss of 4 wickets which was easily chased by RCB in just 15.3 overs. The batters of RCB gave a splendid performance where power player Sophie Devine scored the highest 99 runs off just 36 balls with 9 fours and 8 sixes at a strike rate of 275 in Tata WPL. She clinched the title of ‘Player of the Match’ award. It was a historic moment for RCB as they secured 4 points in the points table making them alive in the initial tournament.
