Tata WPL 2023: MI maintains its top position in the points table; wins by 55 runs

The Tata WPL 2023 Mumbai Indians vs Gujarat Giants: Mumbai Indians gave another dominating performance defeating Gujarat Giants by 55 runs. Captain Harmanpreet-led team MI to maintain its position at top of the points table which made 5 wins in a row. They are the only team who have not lost a single match so far. The leading team of MI has secured 10 points in the last 5 matches with an NRR of +3.325.

The women of Mumbai Indians gave a splendid performance at the Tata WPL 2023 against Gujarat Giants at the Brabourne Stadium, CCI. Apart from winning the toss and electing to bowl, Gujarat Giants could not make up to win the match against MI. Team Mumbai made a score 162 runs after losing 8 wickets in the first innings of the match. Whereas to chase that target GG just made 107 runs losing 9 wickets.

Captain Harmanpreet Kaur scored the highest 51 runs on 30 balls, she became the top performer in the first innings and grabbed the title of ‘Player of the Match’. In the second innings, MI player Nat Sciver-Brunt took Sophia Dunkley for a duck, she took the wicket on the first delivery.
