The Nudge Institute, a non-profit that seeks to build scalable resilient livelihoods, today announced that it has appointed Swati Rangachari as its Chief Government Alliances Officer.

Her role includes supporting and enhancing collaboration with the Central and State governments as well as creating improved Economic Inclusion Programmes through her position.

Swati has more than two decades of relevant experience at organisations like Visa, Ericsson, and Sterlite Technologies. She has deep expertise and experience developing long-term relationships with Government Institutions and creating synergies between private and public sectors.

Atul Satija, the Nudge Institute's founder and CEO, explained that Government Partnerships are key to scalability of the Economic Inclusion Programs because many disadvantaged communities depend on Public Systems for their opportunities and Social Protection.

Swati has 13 years of experience in public policy through public engagement, public-private partnerships and has vast knowledge of public programs.

She began her career with roles ranging from Director of Government Affairs for UnitedHealth Group to VicePresident of Business Development at Sterlite Technologies to Global Government Affairs Director at Visa, VicePresident of Government Affairs at Ericsson and VicePresident of Government Relations for Boeing.

All these major corporations represent some of the most important sectors such as: I.T. /ITE, telecommunications, Digital infrastructure, Manufacturing, Financial Services, Aerospace and Technology.

On accepting this new opportunity, Swati expressed her excitement about The/Nudge's focus on identifying long term beneficial programmes for impoverished, marginalised peoples in developing countries through creating sustainable livelihoods and improving dignity, and specifically The/Nudge's intent to find a systemic model for alleviating poverty in India.

She acknowledged that The/Nudge is clearly taking a forward-looking approach to poverty alleviation, as well as recognising the importance of having cooperation between the various stakeholders and working collaboratively (Government, The/Nudge and the wider ecosystem) in supporting the Government of India's development aspirations.

With a keen interest in nation-building, she has always worked at the intersection of public priorities and long-term impact—experience that resonates strongly with The/Nudge’s approach. She strives to strengthen long-term government partnerships to support shared goals and community needs.
