Suchita Oswal Jain supports women's empowerment, citing the fact that 35% of Vardhman Textiles' workforce is female

Suchita Oswal Jain, vice-chairman and joint-Managing Director of Vardhman Textiles, embodies grit, enthusiasm, and commitment. She is a trailblazer and an inspiration as the CEO of one of the country's largest textile conglomerates, which manufactures yarns, textiles, acrylic fibres, threads, and clothing.
Jain entered the company while she was in her early twenties, when few women held positions of influence. With the economy improving, she made a sensible decision and decided to move Vardhman Textiles forward. The world's leading yarn manufacturer has branched out into fabric production.
Vardhman is now a preferred partner for a number of well-known national and worldwide brands, including GAP, Uniqlo, Marks & Spencer, Target, H&M, Kohl's, Calvin Klein, and Muji, with exports to more than 75 countries.
Vardhman Group employs around 30,000 people across four states and operates 18+ state-of-the-art industrial plants.
With women accounting for 35% of the workforce, Jain is a proponent of women's empowerment. The organisation was the first to approach the Punjab government and request and receive permission to enable women to work night shifts. To ensure safety, only ladies who lived on the premises were allowed, and security measures were beefed up. In today's workplace, more than 13% of women are comfortable working night shifts.
Vardhman Group's School Development Program has helped around 65 government schools and 40 anganwadis. Hospitals are given advanced medical equipment in the direction of health care.
“We are here not to make money but to contribute to the growth of the country and society. As an organisation committed to sustainable development, it is our primary concern to address the triple bottom-line,” says Jain.
