The Standard Chartered Foundation and Village Capital have announced the Women in Tech Accelerator Programme, 8th Edition, in the UAE, which is designed to support women-led tech startups at an important point in their growth process.

The Programme will provide investment readiness training, access to catalytic funding and access to global networks as resources to help grow and develop the businesses that make up the women-led tech ecosystem in the UAE. C3, a B Corp™ certified consultancy, is leading this effort in the UAE as a result of its experience in supporting entrepreneurs and building ecosystems.

"This Programme is aligned with the UAE's agenda to diversify its economy and to create a knowledge-based economy," commented Rola Abu Manneh, Chief Executive Officer for the UAE, Middle East, and Pakistan at Standard Chartered Bank.

"This Programme is a way to help women become more access to capital and networks and to help grow and develop women-owned businesses in the UAE and contribute to the overall economic development of the UAE."

The Accelerator Programme has supported a total of 61 women owned businesses (start-ups) since it began operating in 2015. According to statistics from 2025, "92 percent of start-ups produced business plans for growth, and eighty-three percent of start-ups improved their business performance".

Alumni of the Program include companies such as Biosapien (raised USD 7M Pre-Series A) and Ostaz (acquisition by Inspired Education Group). Five of the companies that participated in the Programme were also named by the UAE Ministry of Economy as "The Future 100".

Village Capital's Regional Director for Africa and the Middle East Nakami Walunywa reported that women-owned businesses from the African, Middle Eastern, and Pakistani regions of the world that participated in the Programme generated total revenue of over two million US dollars during the 2025 period.

The 2026 Programme will continue to assist these companies in developing projects to achieve greater business growth, and to enhance their overall level of business success.
