Standard Chartered Appoints Kavita Kulkarni as CTO

Standard Chartered has appointed Kavita Kulkarni as the company’s new CTO for India and South Asia, to boost its technology and operations leadership in the region.

Kavita will be based in Mumbai and will head the India country management team at the bank, where she will lead the implementation of the technology and operations strategy in India and South Asia. Her role involves leading technology programs that support the Bank's strategic initiatives in the region.

With over 25 years of experience in banking, wealth management and technology, Kavita has also served in top executive positions at financial multinationals in India, the UK and the US.

Prior to her tenure at Standard Chartered, she was the managing director and chief information officer for private banking and wealth management at Barclays Bank, leading global technology and operations teams and driving the integration of artificial intelligence into technology delivery processes.

Kavita is a Karnataka University graduate with a B.E. degree in computer science and an MBA in finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University.
