Sowparnika Projects Appoints Rekha Nagaraj as CHRO

Sowparnika Projects has appointed Rekha Nagaraj as its Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), bringing more than 32 years of experience across human resources, IT, non-IT, and real estate and construction sectors.

In her new position, Rekha will work closely with the Board and Executive Leadership to align the company’s people strategy with its business goals. She will focus on strengthening organizational capabilities, developing leaders, enhancing employee engagement and fostering a high-performance workplace culture.

Before joining Sowparnika Projects, Rekha spent more than 20 years with Mfar Constructions Pvt. Ltd., where she held various HR leadership roles. She most recently served as Corporate Head HR&A and Chief Human Resources Officer.

Rekha has had over 23 years of an established HR leadership career at Mfar Constructions Pvt. Ltd in the construction industry. She was appointed to the organization in June, 2003, in a senior HR management role, and subsequently moved through the ranks to Deputy General Manager – Human Resources and Administration (HR&A), Joint Deputy General Manager – Human Resources and Administration (HR&A), General Manager – Human Resources and Administration (HR&A), Senior General Manager – Human Resources and Administration (HR&A) and finally, Corporate Head – HR&A and Chief Human Resources Officer (C-HRO).

As Corporate Head HR&A and CHRO, Rekha worked closely with senior leadership to ensure that the practices of people were aligned with the business goals from April 2021 to June 2026. She was responsible for strategic HR, organizational culture, employee experience, talent management, succession planning, retention, HR policies and governance, learning and development. Her work involved a team of over 30,000 people, and she was working on developing sustainable people systems and enhancing organizational capabilities.

In her previous tenure at Mfar, Rekha spearheaded HR operations, talent acquisition and employee development, and bolstered HR infrastructure across business units. She was involved with workforce planning, performance management and employee engagement processes as well as the set-up of the organization's Learning & Development function. She was also one of the recipients of the Golden Peacock National Training Award 2007 given in January 2008.

Prior to his stint with Mfar Constructions Rekha gained experience in both IT and non-IT businesses. This wide exposure was her career path from Head of Unit at Raman Computers, HR Manager & Administrator in Microsolve Consulting Pvt. Ltd., Software Engineer in SSI, Electronic Engineer in Operon Automation Pvt. Ltd. and Management Trainee Administration & Marketing in Ananya Exports Pvt. Ltd. into ever rising career ranks in HR leadership.

Rekha has an MBA in HRM from Sikkim Manipal University – Distance Education in 2011 – 2013 with First Class. With management education, engineering and technology exposure along with over three decades of leadership experience, she is a strong pillar to augment the people and organization strategy at Sowparnika Projects under her new role.

Sowparnika Projects is a real estate developer based in Bengaluru with a presence in other states like Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. The company was founded in 2003 and specializes in residential construction, particularly quality at an affordable price. It has executed over 50 projects and is managing 25+ projects in Bengaluru and other cities of South India.
