Sift Kaur Samra clinches 2 Gold Medals at 2023 World University Games

At the World University Games 2023, the Indian shooters maintained their outstanding performance by winning four more medals. The Indian team has won 21 medals so far, 13 of which have come from shooting, demonstrating their complete dominance.
In total 7 medals have been secured in Archery which is the next highest number of medals for the Indian team. In the 50m rifle 3 positions, Sift Kaur and Ashi Chouksey secured gold and silver medals respectively. The third Indian in the final, Manini Kaushik, left the match early after completing the first two series due to her below-average performance. Next, the team event for the 50m rifle in three positions was won by Ashi Chouksey, Manini Kaushik, and Sift Kaur.
A bronze medal was grabbed by the Men's 10m Air Pistol team competition where Arjun Cheema, Varun Tomar, and Anmol Jain belonged to the team. They secured third position with 1742 points, as China and South Korea were in a tie with 1742 points. However, South Korea won the gold medal because they had 67 inner hits compared to China's 61.
Several Indian players are expected to compete in track and field competitions. Avantika Narale, a young athlete has qualified for the semis in the Women's 100-meter sprint with a time of 11.63 seconds. Bhavani Yadav has qualified for the finals in the Women's long jump with a jump of 6.12 meters.
