Shaadi.com & Udayan Care Collaborate on Independence Day: Empowering 10,000 Women for Financial Autonomy & Progress
By: WE Staff | Monday, 14 August 2023
Shaadi.com's social initiative branch, Shaadi.org, has partnered with Udayan Care, a well-known NGO that focuses on empowering women and promoting financial independence. Through a financial contribution to the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Programme, the united effort intends to upskill 10,000 women over the course of five years.
Since its inception in 2002, the Udayan Shalini Fellowship Programme has made progress towards its goal of empowering young women by building their sense of agency and social capital. The programme has already benefited close to 14,000 Shalinis and is spread throughout 34 city chapters in 13 Indian states.
Leading Indian matchmaking platform, Shaadi.com hopes that this partnership will give women from all backgrounds the knowledge and abilities they need to pursue a variety of academic and professional endeavours. This programme aims to remove obstacles and open doors for women to enter a variety of industries, which would ultimately lead to financial independence and active participation in India's development.
An official from Shaadi.com emphasised the significance of this collaboration by claiming that the company's dedication to women's empowerment perfectly complements the theme of a recent thought-provoking movie. Even 76 years after India's independence, a sizable portion of Indian women still face some degree of "in-dependence," which is a problem the firm hopes to resolve through this relationship.
Anjali Hegde, executive director of Udayan Care, praised the partnership's common goals and vision. She emphasised the organization's dedication to strengthening women in the workforce, giving them the confidence and financial freedom to navigate all parts of life and live lives full of dignity and meaning.
By working together, Shaadi.com and Udayan Care want to have a long-lasting effect on women's lives and open the door to a more prosperous and inclusive future for India. This alliance signifies a significant advancement in the nation's efforts to empower women and achieve gender equality.
