By: WE Staff | Monday, 14 August 2023
A collaborative initiative between Diva, a prominent laundry care brand in Sri Lanka, and Women in Management (WIM) is making significant strides in supporting women entrepreneurs through their "Diva Dathata Diriyak" program. This innovative endeavor aims to provide specialized entrepreneurship training to women from 22 divisional secretariats in Galle, fostering their growth and success in the business world.
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by women in business, the initiative's training sessions are carefully designed to address these specific needs. By offering essential resources, practical knowledge, and skill-building opportunities, the program not only encourages business growth but also instills self-confidence in women, empowering them on their entrepreneurial journey.
The success of the initial sessions held in Dankotuwa, in collaboration with Women in Management (WIM), and subsequent sessions in Jaffna has prompted the expansion of the "Diva Dathata Diriyak" training initiative to Galle. This expansion reflects the program's commitment to reaching women entrepreneurs across diverse regions and communities.
An award ceremony was held on July 20th, 2023 at the District Secretarial Office in Galle to acknowledge the remarkable progress made by the participants. The event celebrated the achievements of female entrepreneurs from 22 Divisional Secretariats who had successfully completed the training program. This recognition not only validates their hard work but also inspires them to continue striving for excellence.
In addition to acknowledging their achievements, the "Diva Dathata Diriyak" initiative demonstrates a commitment to the continuous growth of these entrepreneurs. The program will maintain engagement with participants, offering ongoing support and monitoring their progress as they continue to make their mark in their respective fields.
Furthermore, the initiative's commitment to nurturing and elevating women's entrepreneurship goes beyond training. The program recognizes and rewards excellence by providing financial support to the top three female entrepreneurs. This assistance aims to propel their entrepreneurial endeavors to new heights, enabling them to make a more substantial impact on their communities and the economy.
The "Diva Dathata Diriyak" initiative stands as a shining example of how collaboration, tailored training, and recognition can contribute to the empowerment and success of women entrepreneurs. Through its comprehensive approach, this program not only fosters business growth but also empowers women to overcome challenges, embrace opportunities, and create lasting positive change in their lives and communities.
