Shri Mahila Sewa Sahakari Bank Ltd., India's first women's bank serving the informal sector, organized the "Women-in-Business Camp" at The Fern Hotel, Ahmedabad. Set up in 1974, SEWA Bank has been a pioneer in empowering self-employed women through economic empowerment, counseling, and banking. Today, the bank operates through 13 branches in Gujarat.

SEWA Bank collaborated with the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management in 2022 to enhance support for women entrepreneurs during the growth stage. This collaboration resulted in the development of a customized financial product and a specific training programme series to enhance micro-entrepreneurs' business skills.

The recent activity convened 33 women micro-entrepreneurs from various sectors of garment production, imitation jewellery, catering, dairy, and beauty services. The women were successfully trained and identified with their accomplishments throughout the camp.

SEWA Bank Managing Director Jayshree Vyas, Chief General Manager Vandana Shah, and representatives of the German partner organization Bettina Wittlinger and Maren Richter attended the activity.

With its strong membership base of over 6 lakh women, SEWA Bank continues its 51-year tradition of empowering women with modern financial solutions and unwavering support. The bank continues to be interested in nurturing women-led micro-enterprises to blossom and thrive, encouraging long-term economic empowerment.
