  • The event will be held in the presence of Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani

The seventh Gulf Businesswomen Forum will take place on Wednesday at the Mandarin Oriental Msheireb in Doha, under the auspices of Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, Chairman of Qatar Chamber.

The event is being hosted by the Federation of Gulf Cooperation Council Chambers with the cooperation of Qatar Chamber, and is supported by the GCC General Secretariat. QNB is the strategic partner of the event.

The launch event will be attended by Sheikh Faisal, Chairman of the FGCCC, in addition to senior Gulf business leaders, entrepreneurs and businesswomen from around the region.

Saleh bin Hamad Al Sharqi, Secretary-General of FGCCC, has said that the first day will see the launch of the Gulf Businesswomen Platform, which is one of the main initiatives of the Federation.

The Gulf Businesswomen Platform will connect businesswomen from the GCC countries and promote an integrated digital system to be able to share experiences, support investments and partnerships in women led activities, and activities that support sustainability and the green economy.

At the recently-concluded China International Import Expo (CIIE) in Shanghai, a strong representation of Zimbabwe was made up of enterprises led by women.

The Zimbabwe Pavilion reflected a notable number of women among the exhibitors that were using this larger scale and broad international platform to tell the story of Zimbabwe's commitment to the empowerment of women.

"I’m glad to see so many women here at CIIE; it is a real endorsement of women’s contribution to economic and social progress in Zimbabwe," said Sandra Ndebele, musician and chair of the National Handcrafts Centre for Zimbabwe. "We do anything that is handmade in Zimbabwe."
