- Samsung India empowers women through its SheLEADS leadership programme
- The second edition of the program empowers women with skills, self-confidence, and professional connections
- SheLEADS embodies Samsung's dedication to inclusivity and making a difference
Samsung India has launched its flagship SheLEADS initiative, a leadership development program to enable women employees with the competencies, confidence, and networking necessary to drive leadership positions.
In the wake of last year's success for SheLEADS, Samsung introduced SheLEADS 2.0, taking the initiative to a new batch of 16 high-potential woman professionals across various functions. The 14-week leadership development initiative provides experiential learning, mentorship by senior leaders, and the opportunity to drive strategic thinking and management capabilities.
Being a world-leading technology company, Samsung is of the view that diverse workforce generates more efficient business outcomes—improving engagement, talent, and performance overall. The belief is brought to life in SheLEADS 2.0 by equipping women with the support and resources they require to excel as leaders.
It is not only a career advancement program but instead cultivates an intimate community wherein women support and motivate each other. "SheLEADS enabled me to hone essential leadership competencies such as strategic thinking, assertive communication, and decision-making," said RS Annapoorna, General Manager, and Legal Management. "However, the biggest learn was the ability of networking and commonalities."
The current class comprises professionals from legal, marketing, supply chain, product planning, and HR—each with distinct strengths to contribute towards creating a more diverse leadership pipeline at Samsung. Samsung continues to strive to build a workplace where everyone—irrespective of gender—can grow and lead. SheLEADS is just one of several steps towards building that culture.
As Rajni Chaudhry, Deputy General Manager, Supply Chain, Digital Appliances, said, "The program is carefully designed to develop leadership skills and enable us to navigate professional and personal worlds. It's been really empowering and transformative." Through SheLEADS and other such programs, Samsung India is contributing to the creation of a future of leadership that's inclusive, diverse, and impactful.
