Akhilesh Yadav, the leader of the Samajwadi Party and a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, made a significant announcement on Wednesday regarding the distribution of tickets for the Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. He stated that his party will provide 20 per cent of the tickets to women.
During his two-day election tour of the state, he made this statement in Madhya Pradesh. The Samajwadi Party will give them a chance by providing 20 per cent of the tickets to women or any women office bearers of the organization who have previously worked in the required field.
The SP leader, Akhilesh further stated that BJP's intentions are never clear and that they are disseminating false information about the reservations.
He continued by asking, what percentage of women have received tickets for the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Elections in the Mahila Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam reservation. The reservation of 33 per cent of seats for women candidates was made, has all the 33 per cent of women have received the tickets.
He said to consider the assembly elections as national elections and the votes will convey a message to the society.
In response to Akhilesh Yadav's comment about the 20 per cent reservation, Dinesh Sharma, a former Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh claimed that the SP leader was anti-women as the Samajwadi Party and RJD did not approve the Women's Reservation Bill in the Rajya Sabha when it was proposed and this delayed on passing the bill.
The majority of female MPs, MLAs, MLCs, and even the party's President are all female, demonstrating that the BJP has not only worked to advance women but also became the first political party in the nation to grant women 33 per cent reservation.
