The Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) is set to host the fifth edition of the Women Startup Summit (WSS 5.0), a flagship event designed to empower female entrepreneurs with knowledge and networking opportunities. The summit, to be held on September 29, features an impressive lineup of lectures, panel discussions, workshops, and expert speakers.
The inauguration of WSS 5.0 will be graced by Kerala's Minister for Health and Woman & Child Development, Ms Veena George, setting the tone for a day filled with insightful discussions and learning opportunities. Senior bureaucrats, Dr. Rathan U. Kelkar, Secretary of the Department of IT & Electronics, and Dr. K. Vasuki, Labour Commissioner, will also address the inaugural session.
The event will be enriched by the presence of the Consulate General of Finland, Erik Gustav Christopher, who will share valuable insights and perspectives. The summit will take place at the Integrated Startup Complex in Kalamassery, offering a conducive environment for innovation and collaboration.
One of the summit's highlights is the Women Startup Expo, featuring 38 stalls that showcase startups, student projects, innovations from government officials, and research institutes. These exhibits span various sectors, reflecting the diversity and creativity of India's entrepreneurial landscape.
The summit places a strong emphasis on supporting aspiring entrepreneurs by offering guidance on starting a company and protecting their business ideas. Renowned speakers like Palki Sharma Upadhyay, Managing Editor of FirstPost & Network 18, and Suja Chandy, Senior VP and Managing Director (India) at Zafin, will provide valuable insights during the event.
The discussions at WSS 5.0 will cover a wide range of topics, including fostering innovation and diversity, empowering women entrepreneurs through government organizations and support initiatives, and adapting to changing workforce dynamics. The event will also explore the future of investing in women startups and highlight the journeys of couplepreneurs.
Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in workshops on various subjects, including Innovation & Design Thinking by ICT Academy, FOSS technologies, Blockchain, and AI-powered robots. Masterclasses on Impact Leadership, D2C Strategies for SMEs, and Intellectual Property Rights will provide valuable knowledge and skills.
The Founders Meet segment of the summit will feature insights and experiences shared by entrepreneurs and startup founders, fostering learning and inspiration.
KSUM, as the state government's nodal agency for entrepreneurship development and incubation activities, is committed to supporting women entrepreneurs and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Kerala. WSS 5.0 is a testament to this commitment, offering a platform for women to thrive in the startup ecosystem.
