The Rotary Club of Bombay Pier held its second Impact Awards Season 2 at the National Stock Exchange in Mumbai, honoring grassroots changemakers who are transforming communities through selfless service. The event, attended by notable guests like Member of Parliament Milind Deora and Honorable Consul General of Cyprus Viraj Kulkarni, honored the eight changemakers for their contributions across mental health, education, disability support, women's empowerment, and more.
The eight notable changemakers are:
- Simran Walia: Rescue efforts through Aman's Animal Rehabilitation Foundation
- Rohit Kumar: Work in municipal schools with Apni Shala Foundation
- Bharathy Tahiliani: Uplifting vulnerable women through Kshamata's rehabilitation model
- Elizabeth Mehta: Pioneering inclusive education with Muktangan Education Trust
- Ritu Vig: Creating supportive spaces for neurodiverse adults via Special Hangouts
- Conroy Remedios: Using sports as a catalyst for youth engagement through the Republican Sports Club
- Jaya Jogdand: Fearless work with survivors of abuse at Snehalaya
- Harakchand Savla: Unwavering support for cancer patients through Jeevan Jyot
Commemorating the event, Kamlesh Desai, President of the Rotary Club of Bombay Pier, mentioned, "At Rotary, we believe in service above self. These awardees exemplify that principle, not through grand gestures but consistent, heartfelt action. We are proud to bring their stories into the spotlight."
The Rotary Club's Impact Awards celebrated the launch of the Satellite Club, a youth-led initiative focusing on grassroots change and innovation. The initiative, led by passionate young individuals, encourages inclusive leadership and community action. The awards honor the legacy of Rotary and nurture the next generation, highlighting service, social innovation, and lasting impact.
