Punjab Govt implements 'Punjab Civil Services Rules' for Women Candidates

The Punjab government has implemented the 'Punjab Civil Services (Reservation of Posts for Women) Rules', aiming to increase women's participation in governance and decision-making roles. The policy ensures fair representation for women in public administration, strengthens Punjab's social and administrative fabric, aligns with the vision of building a progressive and inclusive 'Rangla Punjab', and prioritizes women's empowerment in governance and public services.

The launched initiative holds 33 per cent reservation for women candidates across all categories of appointments to Group A, B, C, and D in the government departments, boards, and corporations in Punjab.

Minister for Social Security, Women and Child Development, Punjab, Dr Baljit Kaur, praised the initiative and expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann for the initiative. She mentioned, "The landmark initiative is a testament to the Punjab government's unwavering commitment to fostering a gender-neutral, inclusive, and equitable society." She added, "The reservation policy is designed to ensure greater participation of women in public administration and decision-making roles, thereby strengthening the social and administrative fabric of the state."

The minister emphasized the importance of empowering women in governance for holistic growth and prosperity. The Punjab government prioritizes equal opportunities and public services.
