President Droupadi Murmu arrived in Prayagraj on Monday to participate in the ongoing Maha Kumbh, a grand celebration of spirituality and culture. She took a sacred dip in the Triveni Sangam, the confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythological Saraswati rivers, accompanied by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
During her eight-hour visit, President Murmu also paid homage at the revered Akshayavat tree, a timeless symbol of immortality in Sanatan culture. She further sought blessings for the nation’s prosperity and well-being by offering prayers at the iconic Bade Hanuman Temple.
In addition to her religious engagements, President Murmu explored the Digital Maha Kumbh Experience Centre, a cutting-edge facility that provides a virtual glimpse into the Kumbh Mela. This initiative seeks to educate both domestic and international visitors about the vast cultural and spiritual significance of the event through immersive technology.
Security measures were in place throughout the city to ensure the safety of all attendees. The event also held historical importance, as President Murmu retraced the steps of India's first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, who had taken a holy dip during a previous Kumbh Mela.
