  • PNB and MSC India signed an MoU on February 2, 2026
  • The collaboration is expected to enhance access to credit and promote inclusive finance in India
  • Emphasis on strengthening support for women micro-entrepreneurs

Punjab National Bank entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MSC India Consulting Pvt. Ltd., and their goal is to promote access to formal credit through expanded financial inclusion efforts throughout India.

The agreement will also provide women micro-entrepreneurs with increased access to financing and will work to strengthen the linkage between Self-Help Groups (SHG’s) and banks, both of which are critical components of the Financial Inclusion initiative in India.

This partnership will facilitate improved access to credit in the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), as well as the State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM) ecosystems and provide avenues for established avenues of credit to be linked to communities that have been traditionally underserved.

This initiative will create increased access to formal Banking Services, expand on Women's Business Ownership empowering Women-Owned Businesses, and promote sustainable livelihood opportunities within rural and semi-urban communities by providing funding for these initiatives.

Additionally, the collaboration supports ongoing priority sector lending initiatives by PNB to broaden financial access & inclusion through various Government-Supported Living Initiatives & the provision of Lending for Development purposes through Credit Outreach Projects continue to be part of PNB's vision statement to support Inclusive Growth through providing both Financial Services and Public Policy supporting countryside growth and development.

Furthermore, this statement also provides evidence that PNB continues to increase its role in the provision of Priority Sector Lending as a continued commitment to providing access to credit for Development purposes.
