  • Women entrepreneurs and leaders from Andhra Pradesh were provided with opportunities to network with Australian institutions

The Confederation of Indian Industry Andhra Pradesh (CII AP), in conjunction with Young Indians Amaravati Chapter, held an interactive session on Tuesday with Silai Zaki, the Consul-General of Australia in Chennai.

After returning to India from Minister Nara Lokesh’s trip to Australia, this session was timely to continue to build the bilateral relationship between Andhra Pradesh and Australia.

Through this interactive session, women entrepreneurs and emerging leaders from Andhra Pradesh were provided the opportunity to form partnerships with institutions and innovation ecosystems in Australia.

The primary sectors discussed included health, green energy, clean technologies, education, tourism, and sustainability.

With regard to tourism and culture, ideas were shared to empower local artisans located in Andhra Pradesh to provide them access to national and international platforms, specifically with Indian Diasporas located in Australia.

Several methods for raising the international profile of the arts, crafts, handlooms and creative industries of Andhra Pradesh were identified, such as hosting cultural events, curated exhibitions of local artisans and tourism-based events.

Balakrishna Chittineni, Yi Amaravati Chapter Chairman; welcomed everyone and emphasized the need for internationalisation of young and women leaders to think globally and explore global entrepreneurship.

Silai outlined Australia’s keen interest in establishing and enhancing people-to-people and business connections with the state of Andhra Pradesh and the many opportunities for future collaboration with Andhra Pradesh in respect of innovation, sustainability, education and cultural exchange.

CII Andhra Pradesh Vice Chairman, S. Narendra Kumar and CII Vijayawada Zone Chair Dr. V Nagalakshmi highlighted on the synergies between Australia and Andhra Pradesh in relation to sustainability and education, and reaffirmed CII’s commitment to developing global partnerships.

Yi leadership concluded by reaffirming their commitment in developing and establishing global relationships that contribute to the development of talent, creativity and entrepreneurship in Andhra Pradesh.
