PM Modi to Announce Bima Sakhi Scheme for Women's Empowerment in Haryana

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit the state of Haryana on December 9 to announce the 'Bima Sakhi Yojana'. The scheme is focused on empowering women and strengthening their financial inclusion.
A statement from the PMO said that the launch which will take place in Panipat. It also mentioned that it is a Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) initiative that intends to empower women aged 18-70 years, who have passed Class X. The beneficiaries will receive specialised training. They will also be given a stipend for the first three years to endorse financial literacy and insurance awareness.
The chosen women will be eligible to work as LIC agents. Women who graduate from the Bima Sakhis program will also be given the choice to qualify for being considered for Development Officer roles in LIC. The Prime Minister will himself disburse the appointment Certificates to prospective Bima Sakhis.
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for the main campus of Maharana Pratap Horticultural University, Karnal. To be developed at the cost of over Rs 700 crore, the campus and six regional research stations will be spreading over an area of 495 acres.
Beofore heading to Panipat, PM Modi is slated to first reach Jaipur and at 10.30 a.m., inaugurate the 'Rising Rajasthan Global Investment Summit 2024' at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC).
