Paris Olympics 2024: Indian Women Athletes Performance Round Up So Far

On day 5 of the Paris 2024 Olympics, many sporting events have been concluded with athletes from around the world competing giving extraordinary performances. Indian women athletes, with support from the Indian government and sports bodies, are poised to make significant impacts in various disciplines. With their history of overcoming challenges, and receiving advanced training facilities these athletes are showcasing their skills and bringing glory to the nation.
The Indian athletes have competed in various sports including archery, boxing, shooting, badminton, table tennis, and equestrian. Let us have a look at the performances:
Badminton
HS Prannoy advances to pre-quarters winning 16-21 21-11 21-12 against Le Duc Phat. Lakshya Sen defeated Jonatan Christie with 21-18 21-12. PV Sindhu also defeated Kristin Kuuba. These 3 players have qualified for the round of 16.
Table Tennis
Sreeja Akula and Manika Batra go down fighting after round 16, losing in pre-quarters.
Boxing
Lovlina Borgohain defeated Sunniva Hofstad in women's 75kg and succeded into the quarterfinals. Nishant Dev is also in the quarter-finals defeating Jose Gabriel Rodriguez Tenorio in men's 71kg.
Archery
Deepika Kumari storms into pre-quarters of women's individual archery, defeating Reena Parnat and Quinty Roeffen. Tarundeep Rai suffered a 6-4 loss to Tom Hall in the men's individual round of 64 clash.
Shooting
Swapnil Kusale jumps into the finals finishing seventh in the men's 50m rifle 3 positions. However, Aishwarya Pratap was knocked out.
Women's Trap Qualification
Shreyasi Singh and Rajeshwari Kumari ended in the 23rd and 22nd positions respectively.
Equestrian
Anush Agarwalla was knocked out in 10 qualifiers in Group E.
