Pallavi Dempo becomes First Woman to Contest LS Polls on BJP Ticket in Goa

Pallavi Dempo, Executive Director of Dempo Industries has emerged as the first woman candidate from the BJP to contest the Lok Sabha elections in the state of Goa. The BJP declared her as a candidate from the South Goa constituency among its latest list of 111 candidates for the upcoming general elections.
Pallavi became an entrepreneur from Goa having attained his chemistry degree from the University of Goa and his MBA from the MIT, Pune. At the age of 49, she stands as the Group Executive Director, taking up the media and real estate sectors under her vision.
Presently, South Goa constituency has its member of parliament from the Congress party and Francisco Sardinha is taking charge of it.
The BSP was elected in two consecutive Lou Congressional elections in 1962. Nevertheless, the regular switching between the MGP, UGP, and the INC was a common phenomenon in the constituency during the election. In 1999 uttered victory but in the subsequent years could not continue with the victory streak.
Along with her husband, Shrinivas Dempo, who is the head of an industrialist group and the president of the Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industries (GCCI), Dempo is one of the most distinguished personalities in the business community in this district.Further to that, when Dempo family has facilitated the government high schools adoption, they prioritize the avocation of training for girls via the Rural School Adoption Programme.
Pallavi Dempo who is President of IGES (Indo-German Educational and Cultural Society) which closely collaborates with Germany and Goa in making cultural relationships.
