From August 2022 onward, ETO Motors, India's top EMaaS (Electric Mobility as a Service) provider with a distinctive 360-degrees Electric Mobility business model, plans to introduce electric vehicles as last-mile connectivity for commuters driven by women at Delhi Metro Stations. The company thrives on the 3E Principles of Environment, Employment, and Empowerment, where women power takes the lead, and it provides a service that is heavily focused on the introduction of sustainable, clean mobility solutions. This idea is evidence of ETO's support for gender equality, women's empowerment, and thriving communities.
The GMR Varalakshmi Foundation and MOWO, an NGO that promotes safe mobility for women, have entered into a deal with ETO Motors to onboard and train women drivers for last mile e-mobility services throughout the Delhi Metros. This ETO Motors programme intends to provide 300 women wage earners in the focus geography with prospects for sustainable income and advancement. The women will receive skill development training, ongoing support, and assistance with operating e-autos, boosting their employability or assisting them in starting small businesses.
Following the installation of e-ricksaws at various Metro stations in the national capital region, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has granted 300 permits to the company, adding to its already illustrious resume. These permits will allow the company to operate electric vehicles with female drivers to provide last-mile connectivity to commuters. The e-autos operated by women would be painted blue and lilac to improve visibility from the perspective of commuters. Beginning in August 2022, more than 50 E-auto fleet operations will start. This is another another initiative by the company to hasten the conversion of more than 100,000 drivers to electric cars via the captive "Green Future" programme.
“Our commitment to empowering women folk is truly unique and is underlined by the fact that ETO Motors has trained 100 young unemployed women to drive electric autos in the 100% electric mobility city of Kevadia in Gujarat. We are now adding 300 electric autos in the Metro Stations in the Delhi, driven by women who will provide last-mile connectivity services to commuters who would use the metro service”, said Mr. Deepankar Tiwari, Non-Executive Vice Chairman.
Thunderbox, an EV charging system from ETO, will be deployed all across Delhi at metro stations, housing developments, public/semipublic malls, etc. This will make it easier for all females to reach the e2W and e3W charging stations, alleviating driver range concern.
ETO Motors abides by the maxim "A Good Move" and has shown this by successfully pursuing the production of environmentally friendly cars for the nation. The Trilux 1.0 from ETO Motors is the best-in-class 3-Wheeler smart electric vehicle and is the most sophisticated e-Vehicle for this programme because to its cutting-edge features, including the longest wheelbase in the industry, the highest range of over 100 km, safety belts for both the driver and passengers, an ergonomically adjustable driver seat, and a rear crash guard.
