  • Mission ShakthiSAT’s Mascot Officially Unveiled
  • Announcement Made During BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry Women Empowerment Annual Summit 2026
  • Event Witnesses Ruby Sinha, Ambassadors, and Delegates from BRICS and Partner Nations

The formal launch of the Mission ShakthiSAT mascot took place on March 23, 2026, during the Annual Summit 2026 for Women’s Empowerment at the BRICS Chamber of Commerce & Industry.

The event welcomed leaders from partner and BRICS countries in attendance and featured the presence of former Minister of State for External Affairs Meenakshi Lekhi, as well as Ruby Sinha, ambassadors and delegates, among others.

This symbolic unveiling also reflects the increasing global involvement of nations and people through the common threads of space science, innovative technology and gender equality.

The concept for the Shakthi mascot was created by Srimathy Kesan, Founder and CEO of Space Kidz India, and Mission Director for ShakthiSAT. The artistic features were created by Bikram Dutt, and the apparel was designed by Harsha (Hashtag).

The mascot is composed of the 108 flags of the participating nations in this mission, representing 108 participating nations from throughout the world. This significantly highlights the mission’s core ideal of the global family, and “One Universe, One Family,” derived from the principles set forth in Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

The goal of Mission ShakthiSAT is to establish a globally focused initiative led by Space Kidz India. The purpose of the global initiative will be to provide a collaborative and structured STEM education and technical hands-on training experience for 12,000 girls from 108 countries.

Some of the major program components will include collaborative module educational programs, workshops, and collaborative design experiences in the areas of satellite engineering, coding and space system design.

India’s participation on this project leads to its increasing engagement with international space collaboration; providing a more inclusive access for all to achieve science based on available geographic and economic access, and encouraging the ongoing cooperation of participating Nations.

Unveiling this mission at the BRICS CCI WE Summit further aligned with their focus on Women in Science, Technology, and Innovation (STE) by showcasing the continued importance of women having access to engaged positions within STE.

It also supports the cross-regional expansion of women’s access to new and ongoing systems with the original intent of providing access to more advanced scientific opportunities.

As this mission continues, the six selected students will be travelling to India for integration for their payloads.
