MICA has officially announced its 2026-2028 academic session, welcoming a diverse and predominantly women-led cohort that reflects the institute's continued focus on industry relevance, creativity and leadership. With women accounting for more than 60% of the incoming class, the new class has a majority of female students, and includes corporate, media, creative and entrepreneurial professionals, which will create an environment for an interdisciplinary and collaborative learning experience.
The new academic journey commenced with an intensive two-week induction program to acquaint students about the different features of the MICA curriculum and to assist them in settling into the learning context of a collaborative institute. The orientation is designed to help the student understand and reconcile their varied experiences and aspirations with MICA's interdisciplinary academic framework, so that they are well-equipped to meet the constantly changing requirements of the communication, marketing and business worlds.
In the first program, B. V. Rao, Group Editor of India Today Digital, spoke about the significance of adaptability in today's fast-changing world in a conversation with the incoming batch. He spoke about the impact of technological change across the various industries and urged students to embrace lifelong learning with a strong sense of values.
Addressing the students, B.V Rao added that “the world is evolving at an unprecedented pace and adaptability will prove to be one of your most significant assets, as technology is reshaping industries, your values, integrity and critical thinking will remain at the core of success”.

She added that the institute is dedicated to developing professionals who possess the ability to think strategically and possess creative skills in today's tech-savvy world.
“We are living in an Age of Imagination where technology can streamline processes, but there will always be a place for human creativity, empathy and storytelling”, Jaya said, adding that we are expecting this amazing group of students to defy expectations, to push the boundaries of what's possible, and to emerge as leaders who will make a difference.
The institute's holistic approach to education is rooted in its academic philosophy of the ‘5Cs’—Competence, Curiosity, Courage, Collaboration, and Commitment. MICA's curriculum combines analytical learning, problem solving skills, leadership development and industry interactions, to equip students for careers in marketing, communication, media, consulting and emerging business.
MICA's 2026-2028 academic session is a new beginning that will prioritize strong emphasis on creativity, adaptability, leadership and the fact that majority of its students are women, building for the future professionals to be successful in the future world, which is becoming more dynamic and imagination driven.
