She is scheduled to meet the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on the 26th of Jan. She actually had no source of livelihood; she is an e-rickshaw trainer.
According to the press release published by the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, Mansha is working as a ‘Samuha Sakhi’ in her Self-Help Group. Nonetheless, her financial condition was improved after she joined the Safe Mobility Programme.
Presently, she is earning a monthly income of ₹20,000 to ₹30,000, which translates to an annual income of ₹2.5 to ₹3 lakhs.
The project for safe mobility is currently being executed by an agreement between Development Alternatives and the State Rural Livelihood Mission, with the guidance of Mission Director Deepa Ranjan.
Mansha has been involved in spreading support to more than 60 women of the Gorakhpur district, including the Brahmapur block, by facilitating them to acquire training in driving, licensing, and entrepreneurship.
The press release highlighted that government programs for economic assistance and safety on transport routes have given women new economic opportunities. Currently, a large number of women involved with this project are operating e-rickshaws on their own.
Mansha got funding of ₹1.25 lakh for the Mudra Scheme as well as additional funding of ₹1 lakh at the block level, which raised her activity level.
Now women of her community are able to run e-rickshaws throughout the day in a secure environment. Women’s security and self-employment along with financial freedom are being addressed collectively through mobility initiatives.
Prior to that, Mansha had been aware of different government programs through outreach activities. Since the Safe Mobility program, Mansha has started earning a regular income and now receives between ₹800 and ₹1,000 daily. She has also started training women in her village.
