  • Haryana Govt Scheme expanded to include more economically weaker women
  • Three new categories added for families earning up to ₹1.80 lakh annually
  • Education-based eligibility for women whose children perform well academically or under the NIPUN Mission

The Haryana state government has announced the expansion of the scope of the state’s Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana with the objective of benefiting more women and empowering women hailing from the economically weaker sections to gain self-reliance.

Rewari Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Meena announced that three new categories have been added to the scheme. He also urged eligible women to make use of the scheme.

Abhishek Meena explained that according to the scheme’s criteria, the current beneficiaries of the scheme who have an annual family income of Rs 1 lakh will continue to receive the benefits of the scheme.

The following are the new categories that have been added to the scheme. In the first category are women whose families earn less than Rs 1.80 lakh annually, whose children attend government schools, and whose grades in Class X and XII exceed 80%.

The second category consists of women whose families earn less than Rs 1.80 lakh annually and whose children, via the Center's Nipun Mission, attain grade-level competency from Class 1 to IV.

In the third category will fall mothers who will also receive a bonus of Rs 2,100 if a child who was previously judged to be malnourished or anemic according to the nutrition tracker becomes well and goes into the green zone with the mother's help. The family's yearly income has to be below Rs 1.80 lakh.

The Deputy Commissioner mentioned that the newly added categories of the scheme will ensure that more women are empowered. He stated that an amount of Rs 2,100 was being deposited in the bank accounts of the eligible women under the Deen Dayal Lado Laxmi Yojana.

“Now, Rs 1,100 will be deposited directly into their accounts, while the remaining Rs 1,000 will be deposited in a recurring/fixed deposit,” said Meena, adding that the initiative aimed at providing women and their families with immediate financial assistance and also ensuring financial security for their future.

The beneficiary woman will receive the money along with interest when it matures, and if she passes away, the money will be promptly transferred to her nominee.
