Madhya Pradesh CM announces an increase in Ladli Behna Yojana & and a 35% Female hiring preference

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh announced an increase of financial assistance provided to women under the Ladli Behna scheme from Rs 1000 to Rs 1,250 per month. He also announced 35 per cent reservation for them in the public employment sector and the provision of gas cylinders for Rs 450. The remaining amount of Rs 1,000 will be credited in September.
In MP, 7.07 lakh of the 13.39 lakh new voters are female. The increase in electoral list numbers stands at 2.79 per cent compared to 2.30 per cent for men.
According to the CM, the Ladli Behna Yojana will start providing Rs 1,250 to 1.25 crore women in October and will gradually increase to Rs 3,000 per month in order to achieve the goal of improving the economic and social status of women.
The CM also stated that the percentage of females employed in government sectors has increased from 30 per cent to 35 per cent and for teachers it has raised to 50 per cent. So far, this Yojana has provided financial assistance of Rs 3,628.85 crore.
Women between the ages of 23 and 60 who are not income tax payers and whose families make less than Rs 2.5 lakh annually will receive Rs 1,000 per month as part of the scheme.
At least 18 of the 230 Assembly seats in MP have more female voters than male which includes people from tribal-dominated areas like Mandla, Jhabua, Balaghat, Alirajpur, and Dindori.
