L'Oreal India Introduces Scholarships for Female Science Students

L'Oréal India is offering scholarships to economically disadvantaged Class 12 students pursuing higher education in science. The scholarships cover college fees for graduation studies in any scientific field at a recognized Indian university, aiming to support and encourage science education.
The latest edition of the program "For Young Women in Science" Scholarship (FYWIS) 2023, L'Oréal India has started accepting applications. Interested candidates can apply on their official website for the scholarship whereas the last date for applying is 7 January 2024.
This scholarship is for those female students passing Class 12 Science with a minimum of 85% marks in PCM/PCB/PCMB in the academic year 2021-22 and obtaining admission into an undergraduate science-related program in an Indian institute for 2022-23.
Only female students whose family income is less than Rs. 6 lakh annually will be awarded the scholarship. The candidates who were selected will go through a telephonic interview round following the screening and shortlisting of the applications received. Following this, the selected candidates and their parents will be invited for an in-person interview with a jury made up of notable scientists, academicians, journalists, etc.
The program was started in 2003, and established to support young women in science and scientific fields. In the current year, the program will be organized in a hybrid jury round in various locations including Mumbai, New Delhi/NCR, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata offering both in-person and virtual participation.
