Kella Leadership, an Irish platform that supports women in the business sector, is getting ready for its first international foray in London. Launched in January 2023 by Hannah Wrixon, Gina London and Caroline Dunlea, the platform is totally remote with five employees and is funded by €250k in investment from their founders.
The platform aims to connect women leading teams or businesses in professional learning, networking, and advancing in their careers. Kella Leadership uses an algorithm to match women facing similar challenges or in similar leadership roles, as well as offering peer-to-peer support and the pipeline for women climbing the corporate ladder.
Kella Leadership mirrors the established platform for women in business in the U.S.A. called Chief.com and seeks to create a similar space for women in Europe to connect, network and thrive as leaders.
The platform currently has over 250 members starting from women leaders in senior leadership positions to those beginning their leadership journey and is driving to achieve 500 members by the end of the fourth quarter in 2026.
Kella intends to take an international expansion approach, moving city by city, starting with London in early 2026. The founders were inspired by their careers and by studies indicating that women in leadership yielded productive organizational outcomes, as well as by the loneliness often felt by senior women executives.
The platform also offers peer-to-peer programs that run for six months allowing women to be open about their challenges and share experiences. Since launching the platform eight months ago, Kella has had a strong level of engagement including a second summit at Killashee with 200 participants resulting in very positive feedback.
