JKTPO Arranges One-Day Workshop to Energize Women Entrepreneurship

For energizing Women Entrepreneurship in J&K, the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) arranged a one-day comprehensive workshop and felicitation ceremony for Hausla–‘Inspiring Her Growth’ held in Jammu and virtually in Srinagar.
Under the auspices of the Department of Industries and Commerce, the Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) has taken the next step in their initiative called “Hausla”, which aims to assist women entrepreneurs in J&K in overcoming financial, legal, social, and marketing challenges in their businesses. Lt Governor Manoj Sinha formally launched the programme at SKICC Srinagar on June 29, 2021, and the online ceremony was for the first batch of 118 selected women entrepreneurs from J&K. India SME Forum, Ni-MSME, and Mission Youth J&K as programme partners, J&K Bank as financial partner, and Flipkart as e-Commerce partner all support and partner with the initiative.
The training today has led to the initiation of the Hausla program's second stage, which will include one-on-one mentorship of female entrepreneurs. All of JKTPO's partners held sessions on capacity building and credit facilitation during this event.
In addition, in the presence of Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Principal Secretary, Industries and Commerce, and Shahid Iqbal Chaudhary, CEO, Mission Youth J&K as guests of honour, the session introduced a Hausla credit plan exclusively created by J&K bank in collaboration with JKTPO.
At a ceremony held yesterday, JKTPO and J&K Bank joined forces to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the promotion of women entrepreneurship in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
In his special presentation, Ranjan Prakash Thakur, Principal Secretary Industries and Commerce, emphasised the importance of workshops and the Hausla programme in allowing women to stretch their wings and guaranteed that the I&C department is devoted to developing women entrepreneurs. According to him, “presence of women entrepreneurs here kindles my confidence of prosperous future for the Union Territory”.
Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, CEO of Mission Youth J&K, stated that through its partnership with ‘Hausla’, Mission Youth J&K will provide full support to women entrepreneurs on their journey to becoming role models for women across J&K.
He underlined, “Covid-19 situation rmay have slowed down a few entrepreneurs, but it has clearly not dented the spirit of entrepreneurship in this country. Tejaswani and all such schemes will support Women entrepreneurs”.
While welcome the participants, Ms Ankita Kar, Managing Director JKTPO, highlighted the Hausla Program's significant role in the development of effective leadership abilities, acquisition of efficient management techniques, and investigation of external growth opportunities.
Ritu Singh, Chairperson of the FICCI JKL Chapter, presented the audience with numerous opportunities and techniques for improving industrial connections, and encouraged Hausla participants to participate actively in future programmes.
India SME Forum and Nim-sme, training and mentoring partners, provided a full overview of the training programme thus far, while Flipkart held an instructive session for all women entrepreneurs on the Samarth platform.
More than 100 women entrepreneurs attended the event, which was also attended by personnel from the Department of Industries and Commerce.
