Space robotics startup Cosmochute has secured $1.5 million in a pre-seed funding round led by Accel and Prosus Ventures through the Atoms X programme. Other participants included IIMA Ventures’ Deep-tech and Aerospace Acceleration Fund, Operators Studio and Chinmayi Muthyala.

Cosmochute is one of seven startups chosen for the inaugural Atoms X cohort, which was launched earlier this year. The program supports emerging businesses working on innovative technologies and solutions.

The company plans to deploy the newly raised capital towards product development, expanding its engineering team and advancing its commercial roadmap. According to a press release, the funding will support Cosmochute as it moves towards its next stage of growth.

Key Highlights:

  • Cosmochute raised $1.5 million in a pre-seed round led by Accel and Prosus Ventures
  • The startup will use the funding for product development, engineering expansion and commercial growth
  • Its LEAP platform aims to simplify payload transportation and deployment on the Moon

Founded in 2026 by Janhavi Gore, Amit Chowdhary and Dhruv Alok Sangal, Cosmochute is developing space robotics infrastructure for the emerging lunar economy. Its first program, LEAP, is a modular platform designed to facilitate payload transportation and deployment on the Moon.

The modular rover and trailer system enables multiple payloads to be integrated into a common mission architecture, while standard payload bays enable rapid integration of multiple payloads. The company seeks to solve the problems of cost and complexity in getting equipment and payloads to the lunar surface by standardizing the way the company moves and deploys equipment to the moon.

The platform is meant to minimize the amount of mission specific engineering needed and to allow for the transport and deployment of payloads to the lunar surface in a repeatable fashion.

Cosmochute is establishing its lunar laboratories in IIMA Ventures' incubator. The startup is also operating in the India Space technology Ecosystem comprising companies, investors and institutions to foster private participation in the Space Technology Sector.

LEAP will be the first platform for Cosmochute to use for their lunar mobility and space robotics development; other space and terrestrial use-cases are planned. The company wants to establish infrastructure for commercial and scientific missions to the Moon.

The company aims to contribute to the growth of the commercial lunar economy by making lunar transportation and payload deployment more accessible and efficient. Through its modular technology, Cosmochute seeks to support future scientific research, commercial exploration and infrastructure development on the Moon.
