Jane Huxley steps down as Are Media CEO, Sally Eagle appointed

- The company has streamlined its portfolio to focus on key brands in the women’s market
Are Media Ltd has made a significant announcement regarding its Chief Executive Officer, Jane Huxley, who will be stepping down from her position. Sally Eagle has been appointed to take over as the new Company CEO.
Jane has served as Are Media’s CEO for five years, helping to successfully establish the company as a multi-platform content provider.
In this time, Are Media’s brand portfolio was refined to better target women and lifestyle audiences, and the operational efficiency and stability of print, digital, social, and live events were improved.
Company Chairman Ben Hawter noted in an internal communication to employees how Are Media had successfully navigated a period of major change during Jane’s tenure as CEO, improving the company’s competitive marketplace position in Australia and New Zealand, and building upon Stronger market position and more across channels of content.
One of the key events occurring during Jane’s time at Are Media occurred in the form of the acquisition of Are Media’s Distribution Platform which was rebranded as Are Direct, creating greater distribution certainty for both Are Media and the greater publishing industry.
Other important developments included the streamlining of Are Media’s Brand Portfolio to better define its strategic direction, and investment in infrastructure such that the workforce, systems, and digital platforms could continue to grow.
Sally has been with Are Media for 16 years and has held several senior leadership roles within the business. Eagle has led the business’s content strategy for the past three years and has also served as customer director, overseeing the food and book divisions. Eagle has also had a role in finance within the business prior to moving into senior leadership roles.
She has experience in all aspects of content, commercial operations, customer, and people leadership, the board said. This is the company’s process for internal succession as they prepare for the next chapter of the business. The board also thanked Jane for her service.
