Intel India Head Nivruti Rai Steps Down After 29 Years of Service
By: WE Staff | Friday, 23 June 2023
Nivruti Rai, the head of Intel India and Vice President of Intel Foundry Services, has announced her resignation from the company after an impressive tenure of 29 years. Intel confirmed the news in a statement, expressing its gratitude for Rai's exceptional leadership and the remarkable progress achieved by Intel India under her guidance.
Rai began her journey with Intel in February 1994 as a design engineer. Over the years, she held various key positions within the company, showcasing her expertise and dedication. In recognition of her significant contributions, Rai was honored with the prestigious Nari Shakti Puraskar in 2022 for her exceptional work in empowering women.
Having initially performed with Intel in the United States from 1994 to 2005, Rai transitioned to Bengaluru in September 2005, carrying the role of Senior Director of Chipset Engineering and Intellectual Property Development. Under her leadership, Intel India grew to become the largest engineering center for Intel outside of the United States.
Intel expressed its appreciation for Rai's invaluable contributions to Intel India's success and its position as a critical talent base for the company. The company plans to provide updates soon regarding the leadership succession plan for Intel India, ensuring a smooth transition and continued growth.
This departure marks the second notable change within Intel's leadership team in recent times. In November 2022, Randhir Thakur, the president of Intel's foundry services, also left the company. These transitions reflect Intel's ongoing efforts to adapt to changing market dynamics and maintain a strong leadership position in the industry.
Nivruti Rai's departure from Intel India marks the end of an era, but her legacy of leadership and accomplishments will continue to inspire professionals in the tech industry. As Intel prepares for the next chapter in its India operations, the company remains committed to its mission of innovation and advancement in the ever-evolving world of technology.
