Indian Women's Hockey Team Goes Down by 2-3 against Australia A

The Indian Women's Hockey Team lost to Australia A in their second match of the Australia tour with a score of 2-3, despite starting strong at the Perth Hockey Stadium. Despite the loss, the team showed resilience and determination, keeping the match competitive until the end.

The Indian team, including Jyoti Singh, took the lead in the 13th minute, whereas Sunelita Toppo managed to score a late goal for India in the 59th minute, but failed to capitalize on the chance to win. However, Team Australia A bounced back from a goal down with Evie Stansby (17'), Dayle Dolkens (48'), and Jamie-Lee Surha (52').

During the first quarter, India outpaced Australia A in an attacking match, putting pressure on the hosts. However, Australia A held their own, and India won a penalty corner, giving them a 1-0 lead. Australia A fought back in the second quarter, earning a Penalty Stroke converted by Stansby. India continued to attack, holding India to 1-1 at half-time.

After the break, Australia A and India engaged in a flurry of attacks, with Australia A dominating the first quarter, while India counterattacked and closed out the third quarter. Australia A led 2-1 in the final quarter, but India fought back with Toppo's goal, but Australia A won 3-2, despite India's attempts to equalize.

Next, Team India will face Australia's main team on May 1, 2025, on Thursday.
