India Women secured their ninth consecutive T20I victory against the West Indies with a 49-run win in the series opener on December 15, 2024. They reached their highest-ever total of 195/4 in 20 overs due to Jemimah Rodrigues' brilliant knock and Smriti Mandhana's contribution at the DY Patil Sports Academy, Navi Mumbai. The West Indies responded with 146/7, with Qiana Joseph and Deandra Dottin contributing to the score. Jemimah was named as the Player of the Match for smashing 73 off 35 balls.

The West Indies women won the toss and elected to field first against India Women. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Uma Chetry got a good start, securing 50 before losing a wicket. However, the partnership of Smriti and Jemimah Rodrigues brought laurels to the scorecard as the duo put up India's third-highest total in women's T20 cricket. Jemimah scored 73 off 35 and Smriti smashed 54 off 33. India reached 84/1 at the halfway mark, crossing 100 runs in the 12th over. Smriti's six and Richa Ghosh's 20 helped India maintain momentum. Jemimah delivered nine fours and two sixes, helping India post an imposing 195/4.

The West Indies women's team faced a challenging start during the second innings, with captain Hayley Matthews dismissed in the second over. However, Qiana Joseph and all-rounder Deandra Dottin maintained the visitors' lead with clean hitting. Titas Sadhu removed Qiana in the 10th over, and Dottin completed her half-century. India won the series one with a 49-run margin, securing a win.
