Indian SAFF Women's Championship 2022 Squad Announced

TheIndian women’s football teamarrived in Kathmandu over the weekend for the SAFF Women’s Championship 2022. The tournament is slated to kick off on September 6. The defending champions are in Group A alongside Pakistan, Maldives and Bangladesh. The Indian team travelled to the tournamnest location after a brief camp held in Pune.
Speaking about the Blue Tigresses’ preparation, Head Coach Suren Chetri said, “The players are aware of the challenges and we hope to put up a strong performance. The mix of seniors and the younger ones will surely help us to achieve the target”.
The most successful team in tournament history, the Blue Tigresses have won the tournament all five times.
The Indian team is all set to face Pakistan on September 7, Maldives on September 10 and Bangladesh on September 13. All matches for the SAFF Women’s Championship will be played at the Dashrath Stadium, Kathmandu, Nepal.
Dangmei Grace joins the team as a forward. She returned from Uzbekistan where she was plying her trade with FC Nasaf Qarshi.

DEFENDERS: Sweety Devi, Ritu Rani, Ashalata Devi, Ranjana Chanu, Manisa Panna, Michel Castanha, JuliKishan, Santosh.
MIDFIELDERS: AnjuTamang, Priyangka Devi, Martina Thokchom, Sandhiya Ranganathan, Kashmina, Ratanbala Devi.
FORWARDS: Dular Marandi, Apurna Narzary, Soumya Guguloth, Renu, Kiran Pisda, Dangmei Grace.
